Junior (Years 3 & 4)
In Year 3, children move to the main school campus where they have full access to all the specialist facilities at the school. In a supportive, caring learning environment children embrace exciting new opportunities and begin to become more independent.
At this stage, children benefit from being taught both by year group teachers who know them well, and by specialist teachers in sport and the creative subjects. The curriculum is broad and wide-ranging, using the best of the National Curriculum but going further in breadth of opportunity.
In Year 3, children are given their own device which is used to enrich their learning experience and help them develop essential skills in this technological age. In Years 3 and 4, children receive STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) lessons to help them understand the connections between subjects, whilst also developing their creativity and critical thinking skills. On top of this, children have sports matches for the first time and learn invaluable lessons about teamwork, resilience and being a positive role model to others.
Above all, the Junior years are about enjoyment, friendship and developing a love for learning.
